Are you innocent of a crime you have been charged with?

Legal or Litigation Investigator

Are you innocent of a crime you have been charged with? If so the police have stopped their work of investigating and so if you or your legal team need any evidence gathered or new witnesses found then who's going to do it? That's where we step in. Cotswold Private Investigations have, on our team, investigators with years of experience in criminal evidence gathering both with time served in the civilian and military police forces. Don't assume just because you know you are innocent that the criminal justice system will prevail and the court system work for you. Because it won't - take control and make sure the truth gets a fair chance.

We start from the position and firm belief that you are innocent

We start from the position and firm belief that you are innocent and so our investigation is run on that premise. By taking this line it can very often open up new routes of investigation the original police team might not have followed.

What do you need from me to get started?

In first instance we will need to see you either at our offices or at the offices of your legal representatives. At this meeting we would need a written instruction authorising us to investigate on your behalf and then as many details about your case as we can. Ideally a copy of the pre disclosure file that the CPS are intending to use when they prosecute you.

How long does a legal or litigation investigation take?

This depends on how complex the charges and circumstances are. Let's be honest; nothing in the legal system happens quickly and you may of waited months before learning you are being charged so we won't promise anything here simply to say you will have a dedicated professional investor working on your case for how ever long as is required or possible.

What do I receive at the end of the legal or litigation investigation?

At the end of this process you or your legal representative will have a bundle of evidence either new or existing evidence verified that the can use how they see fit for the benefit of your defence and delivered in a manner to their requirement - some prefer a simple verbal report other need written and time noted etc.

How much does a legal or litigation investigation cost?

We charge our standard rate of £85.00 per hour per investigator plus expenses.

The police knocked on my door at 5:00AM disturbed my children and claiming I was a drug dealer. They had a search warrant and everything. After brief search around the downstairs they went straight to a plastic bag hidden (not by me) under the sink. I was charged with possession with intent to supply and nothing I said to the police at any time would convince them this had nothing to do with me. My 'friend' had called a few days before and at the time I thought he was acting funny, I just thought he had had another argument with his wife and wanted some away time. He had offered to make the tea, something he never normally did and then after an hour he left still acting funny. I remember saying to wife "that was a bit weird!" Anyway my solicitor brought in a really nice chap from Cotswold Private Investigations and they managed to find out that my 'friend' was a known cannabis drug dealer and also a registered police informant who got paid by the police each time he supplied them with a chargeable arrest. It turned out he was short of money and decided to use me as his cash machine! My brief named him as a witness in my defence plan and the police dropped all charges. Thank you Cotswold Private Investigations.
